2010: The page turners

Indian writers went places and published books galore. They experimented with themes and forms and took various routes—spirituality, scholarship, scintillating stories, sex— to get to our bookshelves in 2010. Here’s my look at some of the bestsellers.


Turban tales

Turbans have always called for comment when those who wear them ventured far from their shores. Sometimes people reacted positively, often negatively. Sikhs wear turbans and have spread all over the world. Of course, there are many tales that come up when we talk of turbans and peoples’ reactions to them.
