We all worry about our children, more so when they are online. I have always advocated a common sense approach, one that has often made me unpopular with kids. What I feel about online surfing and chatting became the subject of my column Bits about Bytes this time.

WE all have get riled at the lack of manners of people these days. A family holiday abroad reminded us of a world in which people behave in a pleasant and civil manner, where there is order in social situations….All it took to bring back reality home was an Air India flight back. Who to turn to at a time like this than Lynne Truss, who wrote the best-selling “Eats, Shoots & Leaves”, on bad grammar in everyday life? Now this British author takes on bad conduct, in her book, “Talk to the Hand,” which I reviewed on Sunday.
